Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she sang with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter performed on two tracks by EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed followed by a video in September. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The music video premiered 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
